Kurdistan: Women on the Rise

 

Women in the Kurdistan Region (Iraq, Turkey, and Syria) have steadily been rising through the cultural hierarchy in military, political, and general social positions. This rise, although not simple, but necessary and positive regardless, has allowed a typical patriarchal society to make a significant cultural evolution. Given the hostility and general avoidance of this area by casual foreigners, this success has gone relatively undocumented.
